The Alternatives
We support a thorough analysis of all reasonable alternatives that could improve energy reliability and increase energy transmission capacity in the region. Xcel and Tri-State would like you to believe that there is only one way to achieve this. Unfortunately that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
While the utilities’ proposed project would accomplish their goals, it would do it at a high expense to you the ratepayer and by sacrificing natural, scenic and cultural treasures that make the San Luis Valley so special.
There are better ways to achieve their goals. Smarter ways. Cheaper ways. Less impactful ways.
To date, the utilities refuse to consider any solutions other than their own.
