As a proud community partner, Trinchera Ranch is committed to improving the prosperity and quality of life in the San Luis Valley and surrounding region. The Ranch employs more than 30 San Luis Valley residents, is a strong conservation partner and is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the region.
Through a mixture of charitable contributions and on-site educational activities, Trinchera Ranch gives back to the community in numerous ways. From providing scholarships to Costilla County students and funding the San Luis Mariachi Band to supporting renewable energy organizations and agricultural initiatives, Trinchera Ranch is deeply involved in the San Luis Valley community.
Despite being a private ranch, Trinchera also operates numerous programs that allow the broader community to benefit from the resources on the ranch. Every fall, the ranch opens its doors to allow locals to gather firewood they use throughout the winter. Each year, the ranch also makes hundreds of tags available to Colorado hunters, the majority of them San Luis Valley residents, to hunt big game on the ranch at no charge. From teachers to potato farmers, the ranch also hosts multiple educational events throughout the year.
Together, Trinchera Ranch and its owner’s foundation have provided more than $700,000 in assistance to the San Luis Valley and surrounding region since 2008. In fact, Trinchera’s owner has tripled the ranch’s charitable giving since he purchased the property.
